Festie Soccer Mom

The Festie Soccer Mom. 
Do not attempt to attend a music festival without one. 
She is the beautiful soul and caretaker of the group. 

She will never leave you behind. 
She always has a blanket for you sit on.
She always has gum.
She will always share her water.  Or else she will go with you to find some.
She does what is best for the group, even if she doesn't really want to...because she is cool like that.
She will give you her scarf if you are cold.
She will hold your scarf in her bag if you get too hot.
She pulls the chewed up glowstick out of your mouth.
She will go with you to the bathroom.
She always has TP.
She ALWAYS has tampons.
She knows where the group is standing.
She remembers where the tent is.
She is usually the first one up, and the last one standing.
She keeps you safe.

The Inevitable Festy Companion: Chafe

I want to take a moment and talk about my old friend, Chafe.  Chafe loves festivals and likes to hang out on particularly hot and humid days.  She's always trying to come along on long walks to and from the campsite, and mysteriously shows up during daytime dance parties.  Unfortunately, Chafe, while very loyal, can also be very annoying, painful, and frustrating.

As you can see, Chafe has an inherent love of music.

While there are several products out there that can assist you with this matter, I find the "bestie of the festie" product to be Monistat Soothing Care Powder Gel.  I know you're thinking that I'm crazy because Monistat is something you apply somewhere else when you have a different type of problem... BUT, just get over the name and buy it because it will change your life.  WHY? 

Texture
Some products like BodyGlide, can be slimy.  While they work, they aren't particularly pleasant to the touch.  Sure, they relieve and prevent chaffing, but they also leave you feeling like you have jello leaking from your underpants.  The Monistat Gel rubs into a a smooth satiny finish that allows your body parts to joyfully glide against one another without a gooey mess.

Durability
Gold Bond, Monkey Butt, and other anti-chaffing powders can also be great, but I find you need to constantly reapply.  This can get awkward if you're deep in the middle of a human salad trying to secure a stage-front space for the Wilco set.  The Monistat Gel, however, can be applied almost anywhere.  Unlike Gold Bond, which can leave a suspicious, white, powdery trail behind you, Monistat Gel can be applied simply and discretely, and will last several hours before you have to deal with it again.

Convenience
The packaging of the Monistat Gel is great.  It comes in a little cute, small, purple tube that will fit in your make-up bag, fanny pack, pocket, under your hat, basically anywhere.  It won't add uneccesary weight to your festy bag, and like a trusted friend (almost as trusted as Chafe) will always be there when you need it.

Versatility
Just when you thought it couldn't get better, it does!  The Monistat Gel can double-up as a makeup primer!  Just apply it like you would any ordinary expensive makeup primer to create a smooth layer for precise and long-lasting makeup applications!
